Q: Where is Swaziland?
| A: Swaziland is a tiny country in Southern Africa, surrounded by South Africa, and suffers from one of the problems that afflict its big neighbour - babies who become orhpans because their parents have died from AIDS.
It is a beautiful country, about the size of Wales, with mountains to match. It has a population of about 1 million.

Q: Why are you building a children's home in Swaziland?
| A: Swaziland has not escaped AIDS. Through no fault of their own many children are destined to a life of poverty, without parental love and guidance.
About 30% of Swaziland's children have lost one or both parents to AIDS.
Our vision is that the children will remain in their own community, will grow up being loved and secure and will not join the abandoned children on the streets of South Africa, begging, and worse, to live.
|
Q: Where are you building the children's home?
| A: The local chief has allocated us a large piece of land - just off the main road between Mbabane and Manzini in the Ezulwini Valley.
The building would take only a couple of months to build, once we have the cash.
In the first place we want to build a home for 8 children who will be cared for by one house mother and two helpers.
|
Q: What do you need to start?
| A: We need £25,000 to build the house and another £15,000 to fund running costs for the first two years. It's not much. We have the builder's plans, and the land and a housemother ready and willing.
